profile.
David Dickson is an Australian Photographer.
His work has gained acceptance into National and International Exhibitions of Photography. David completed a Bachelor of Science Architecture Degree at the University of Newcastle in 1997. During his architectural education David was inspired by modernist architect Mies Van Der Rohe, and landscape inspired Australian Architects Glen Murcutt, Richard Le Plastrier and Peter Stutchbury. David was a participant in a design masterclass with Murcutt, Le Plastrier and Stutchbury in the early 2000's. David has also been inspired by the writing of naturalist philosophers Henry david Thoreau and Ralf Waldo Emerson.
Davids exhibition at NAS Gallery attracted art critic Bob Birch from NH Weekender Magazine who commented "David Dickson's landscape elements are sparse, elegant and devoid of human presence."
If you look for the human figure as an element it is rarely seen - perhaps as a memory trace - a footprint in the sand, reminding us that we are all just transient vagabonds in this constantly changing and sometimes spectacular landscape.
